The Food – Yum parents and children will be scrambling over these delicious Strawberry Buds by Annabel Karmel and here’s the recipe –
Chocolate dipped Strawberry Buds
100g white, plain or milk chocolate (according to your preference), chopped into pieces
8 strawberries, hulled
You will also need 8 skewers
Put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and melt it over, but not in, a pan of warm water, stirring occasionally. Insert the tip of the skewer into a strawberry and hold the fruit over the bowl of chocolate. Spoon melted chocolate over the strawberry, turning it so it is completely coated. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off, then stand the skewer in a glass in a cool place to allow the chocolate to set. Repeat with the remaining strawberries.
If you like, you could pipe swirls or squiggles in contrasting melted chocolate over the cooled and set strawberries.
